Steve has done many paintings from the High Sierra, and in and around Yosemite. For several years he entered Yosemite Renaissance, a juried show that exhibited in the Yosemite Museum Gallery every winter. He won several honors in the show, including a 1st prize and went each winter. A good winter Valley hike is up to Mirror Lake, and up Tenaya Canyon, or up the Snow Creek Trail to watch for ice falls and avalanches. One year, there were several snowfalls off the top of Half Dome. This 18 x 23″ acrylic painting is from the Snow Creek Trail, looking back toward the valley. It was priced at $1,200., but is reduced for this one-day show, to $750. framed!
